The first time I heard about Baron Hasslehoff's chocolate I was doing a tasting in Commonsense Organics in Wellington and as I was waiting patiently for the next person to come and take a sample, I could hear a lady behind me in the chocolate section laughing loudly and saying out loud "Oh wow, these guys are nuts!". I noticed that she picked up a couple of packets of Baron Hasslehoff's truffles and proceeded to the checkout. Once she was gone I went around the corner to see what she had found so funny and soon realised that their marketing is completely out the gate and also really funny. Each variety has a far-out story on the back about the fictional origins of the product and the well designed bright and bold packaging is eye catching to say the least.
I bought a box of their Bollywood Disco - Chai Spiced Truffles to take home with me and my gosh, they were delicious. I was quickly off to their online store for more and have been pretty obsessed with their entire range ever since. Might be time to admit I have a problem?
So when the team at Baron Hasslehoff's reached out about using a new product we have in development - honey powder, in their products, I was very eager to make the collab work! We're very proud that those same Bollywood Disco truffles that got me hooked now contain Hunt and Gather Bee Co. powdered Rewarewa Honey. Hopefully they will taste even more amazing with our addition to the recipe.
